Weighing in at a mere 3lbs and packing down to a compact 16.5 x 5 x 5 inches, this hammock is the epitome of portability. Crafted from robust 70D parachute nylon fabric and top-notch materials, it boasts exceptional strength with a maximum load capacity of 420lbs, ensuring a secure experience for one person. The overall length comfortably fits adults up to 6'6". Its spacious design provides comfort under the stars. The built-in sleeping pad pocket accommodates any sleeping pad up to a maximum of 3" thick and 25" wide which guarantees warmth in colder seasons. The Hawk Nest™ feels like you're sleeping on air and eliminates any pressure points a regular ground tent may cause. This hammock tent can be set up on any terrain if suitable hanging points are available and if none can be found, you can simply setup your hammock straight on the ground making it extraordinarily versatile! The Product Journey
With any great product, there is a time when it was not a great product. Every journey has to have a starting point and the Hawk Nest Hammock Tent is no exception!
V.1 Product Issues
- The first and most pressing issue was the bottom 20D ripstop fabric that was used. It was very lightweight BUT in some unfortunate circumstances the fabric failed completely. The durability was simply not there.
- The sleeping pad pocket was too small so limited pads could be accepted and the width wise stitching was in some cases compromising the integrity of the bottom fabric.
- The rain fly door ties were spaced too far apart making them hard to use or in some case useless all together
V.2 Issue Fixes
- The bottom fabric was upgraded to 70D parachute fabric which is over 300% stronger than the fabric used in the V.1. Any durability issues are now a thing of the past as this fabric is the global standard for hammocks.
- The sleeping pad pocket was increased 6" in width and length allowing for a wider acceptance of sleeping pad sizes. Also, all width wise stitching was removed and both ends of the pocket are left open with an elastic closure making it easier to insert and maneuver your sleeping pad. This also removed any possibility of compromising the bottom fabric structure.
- The rain fly door ties were moved in 4" each greatly improving their functionality and usability in regards to securely and easily holding open your rain fly

I took a chance ordering this hammock tent off an ad on Instagram (which I never do) and from my very first set up I was convinced that this is tent was going to be a game changer for solo camping. I spent the summer camping in Northern Ontario and when you are constantly on the go, the FAST and EASY set up made adventuring a breeze! Got the V2 and took this bad boy down during my road trip in the US. Not only did I have the comfiest sleep in my life while out camping, but I got so many compliments as well. Took this baby in the rainy PNW all the way down to Arizona's Grand Canyon. And honestly, after hiking a killer 15km in the Canyon on day one, this hammock felt like heaven!

I bought this to primarily use in my backyard for napping, and so far it has met all my expectations!
Set Up: Pretty simple and relatively quick. It took be a bit of time to get the rain tarp nice and taut, but that was more me being scared of ripping the fabric than any design flaw
Comfort: Super comfortable, spacious, and I don't feel like I'll tip over. I use a mummy sleeping bag (when it's below 15c) and small neck pillow usually, but I've been able to nap without the pillow as well.
Design: The rain tarp on one end doesn't have any sure-fire way of fastening it, although it's been mentioned by others and I'm going to take the owner's word that he's working on a better design (which is why I've put the review to 5 stars and not 4). Other than this, no bugs have gotten in, no rain (except when the rain tarp wasn't taut enough, which - again - was on me) and it blocks out enough of the sun I don't feel like I'm going to burn when there's not enough shade.

Spent 6 nights straight in the Hawk Nest and it performed great in warm weather, cooler nights, and some rain (nothing heavy, but it kept me dry). The guy lines were surprisingly effective at minimizing unintentional swaying/rocking. Set up and take down were very simple, much easier than packing a tent. Lukas also provided exceptional customer service when it came to delivery/logistics.

I was able to try this out last weekend for a night and I loved it! Easy setup , light weight and the 2 poles open up the hammock and bug net so that it feels more spacious.
